While many people certainly agree with statistics that point to the growing number of smartphone owners, there is another statistic that is just as important. That revolves around how much data people are consuming with their mobile phones.
MarketingCharts.com recently published an excellent chart that helps to illustrate those numbers:
Over the past year, the amount of data the average smartphone user consumes per month has grown by 89%, from 230 Megabytes (MB) in Q1 2010 to 435 MB in Q1 2011.
Certainly, that statistic helps to demonstrate how people rely on their mobile phones to search, find, and devour information about companies, products, friends, and other things more and more.
When those people need something that your company provides, will they find a mobile-optimized website that gives them what they need?
